Following the first conference of the EXC 2020 research project Petrarchan Worlds in November 2020, the edited volume “Petrarchism, paratexts, pictures: Petrarca e la costruzione di comunità culturali nel rinascimento” has now been published. The volume explores the ways in which the reception of Petrarch’s works in the Italian and European context mediated the construction of cultural communities in the Renaissance. The contributions dwell on the various contexts in which Petrarch was read, interpreted and rewritten, and deal with practices in which the Petrarchan model is reactivated and transformed in different media.
