Cluster member Torsten Jost will take part in the fifth iteration of the annual Arabisches Theatertreffen Hannover (9–13 April 2025). Entitled "Magma", this year's festival highlights Arabic-language productions from the Levant, featuring artists from Lebanon, Palestine, Syria and the European exile. It is organised by Kulturzentrum Pavillon in cooperation with the Arabisches Theaterinstitut (ATI), Kulturbüro Hannover and the Goethe-Institut München.

Together with Moroccan theatre scholar Khalid Amine, Jost will give the opening lecture and present the Cluster publication The Routledge Companion to Performance-Related Concepts in Non-European Languages (Routledge, 2024). In addition, Amine and Jost will lead workshops for students from the Universities of Hildesheim, Braunschweig and Hanover, fostering exchange between theatre and performance studies and global theatre practice.

For more information on the festival, please visit the website of Kulturzentrum Pavillon Hannover (in German only).

Torsten Jost is Head of International Research Cooperation at EXC 2020.
