Post-independent Indian theatre explored critical questions of subjectivities, inter-subjective encounters and political-theatre activism, amidst charged spaces of strikes, protests and working class mobilisation. The presentation aims to offer some insights into theatre and performance practices and genealogy of political theatre at a significant moment, as Stuart Hall says, the critical conjuncture.
