With Yevgenia Belorusets, Susanne Frank, Liubou Kaspiarovich
What does it mean to speak of the "post-Soviet"? And how does a young generation escape the echoes of previous histories? The works of Yevgenia Belorusets, a multidisciplinary artist and writer, who will be an artist in residence at the cluster from August to September 2022, takes her own and other people’s language as a starting point for reflecting on their lives. To kick off the series, Belorusets will enter into conversation with Susanne Frank, Professor of East Slavic Literatures and Cultures at Humboldt University in Berlin, and journalist Liubou Kaspiarovich. How can literature bear witness to processes of identity formation in the tension between Soviet imperialism and Western capitalist ideology?
Moderation: Kateryna Mishchenko
