In a village at the foot of Kinabalu, the highest mountain in Malaysia, lives Sansarinaga. Unfortunately, the boy’s family does not own a buffalo. And so, Sansarinaga is always left alone when the neighboring children ride exuberantly on their animals.
But then the boy has an idea that changes everything. This picture book about friendship, loneliness, and childlike inventiveness tells of a myth of the indigenous Rungus from Borneo embedded in-depth illustrations.
The event is part of the programme special Echo. Echo. Indigenous Voices at internationales literaturfestival berlin 2021. The series is a cooperation between the Cluster of Excellence "Temporal Communities" and the ilb.
