WITH HINEMOANA BAKER, DANIELA CATRILEO, BILLY-RAY BELCOURT, NATALIE DIAZ, PERGENTINO JOSÉ

The special’s Poetry Night will open up a space, albeit a selective one, for a polyphony of Indigenous literatures. Moderated by Karolina Golimowska, the evening will bring the authors Hinemoana Baker, Daniela Catrileo, Billy-Ray Belcourt, Natalie Diaz, Pergentino José together in dialogue and juxtapose their lyrical interventions into the present.

Jumping between continents and cultural backgrounds, the event will create an echo chamber in which different Indigenous literary voices meet and counteract a still-dominant White concept of world literature.

The event is part of the programme special Echo. Echo. Indigenous Voices at internationales literaturfestival berlin 2021. The series is a cooperation between the Cluster of Excellence "Temporal Communities" and the ilb.
