Panel | Rereading Mirtha Dermisache: A Dual Book Launch at Miss Read 2025
Organised by Haus der Kulturen der Welt (HKW).
This event is part of MISS READ: The Berlin Art Book Fair & Festival 2025.
We cordially invite you to celebrate the launch of two new publications exploring the work of Argentinian conceptual artist Mirtha Dermisache (1940–2012).
Taking place as part of the Conceptual Poetics Day at Miss Read 2025, this event brings together the editors and contributors of:
- con·stel·la·tions 02: Reading Mirtha Dermisache (Textem Verlag) – a new anthology examining Dermisache's work within the history of artists' publications and asemic writing following the first solo exhibition of her work in Germany, curated by former Cluster member Regine Ehleiter and
- Month of the Flies (Ugly Duckling Presse), a facsimile edition of Dermisache's Book N° 8: 1970 and Sergio Chejfec's poetic response to it, edited by Rebekah Smith and Silvina López Medin.
Regine Ehleiter and Rebekah Smith will be in conversation with Mela Dávila Freire, discussing Dermisache's radical approach to writing, publication, and circulation, publishing experiments by woman artists in Latin America in the 1970s, and how Dermisache's work continues to challenge conventional notions of reading.
Read more on the publications on the websites of Textem Verlag and Ugly Duckling Presse.
